PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN PREVIEW: UNCONVINCING IN THE LEAGUE PHASE

Paris Saint-Germain made hard work of their Champions League opener against debutants Girona, requiring a 90th-minute own goal to take the three points, before they lost their second fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Top of Ligue 1 on goal difference, Luiz Enrique's side followed a 1-1 draw with Nice with a 4-2 win over Strasbourg on Saturday, and they remain unbeaten domestically this season.

PSV PREVIEW: IN NEED OF POINTS

It's not been an ideal start to the league phase for PSV, whose Matchday 1 defeat at Juventus was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Sporting Lisbon. who equalised in the final ten minutes of that contest.

It has been much smoother sailing in the Eredivisie though, with the Dutch side boasting a perfect record of nine wins from nine league games, and they are averaging over three goals per game domestically.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN TEAM NEWS: RACE AGAINST TIME FOR KOLO MUANI

Defensive duo Presnel Kimpembe and Lucas Hernandez will miss out alongside striker Goncalo Ramos, while Randal Kolo Muani is a doubt after missing the Strasbourg win with a sprained ankle.

Enrique rested a number of his regulars over the weekend, particularly in defence, but will re-instate the likes of Achraf Hakimi and club captain Marquinhos for this one.

They join Joey Veerman on the sidelines, while Serginio Dest and Hirving Lozano are also expected to be absent.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN VS PSV PREDICTION

Given the hosts' admittedly difficult fixture list in the league phase, they really need to be picking up points from their home games, especially as they face Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Man City in their next four European fixtures.

That being said, PSV are also in need of putting points on the board given that they have only collected one so far, and with Paris Saint-Germain having conceded in seven of their last eight games in all competitions, do not be surprised if a high-scoring game ensues here, whichever way it goes.
