Juventus have been strong but also left quite frustrated by Thiago Motta’s evolution of the Old Lady in the early stages of this season as they now welcome an indifferent Stuttgart side at the J Stadium this week.

JUVENTUS PREVIEW: NEW ERA FOR THE OLD LADY

In their opening ten matches of the 2024/25 season across all competitions, Juventus have been unbeaten. They have been frustrated by four draws in their eight Serie A games, though, holding them back domestically and meaning they are currently sitting below Napoli and Internazionale.

In the UEFA Champions League, with Thiago Motta trying to evolve the style of football with a younger and more dynamic squad, Juventus have scored three goals in both of their matches with a 3-1 defeat of PSV Eindhoven in Turin before the Bianconeri then came from behind to defeat RB Leipzig by three goals to two.

STUTTGART PREVIEW: STUTTERING STUTTGART

Sebastian Hoeness remains in charge of Stuttgart after being heavily linked with a move away as a result of the excellent job he has done with the club. He led them from a relegation playoff at the end of the 2022/23 campaign to finishing as Bundesliga runners’ up in the 2023/24 season.

They did lose a few key players such as Waldemar Anton, Hiroki Ito and Serhou Guirassy over the summer and it has therefore been an underwhelming start to this season. They come into this one on the back of being hammered by four goals to nil by Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena at the weekend.

JUVENTUS TEAM NEWS: INJURIES THROUGH THE SPINE

Wingers Francisco Conceicao and Timothy Weah have been injured for Juventus this season but both are now fully fit and available as they welcome Stuttgart to Turin.

They do still have a few key absentees through the middle of their side as Brazilian defender Bremer as well as Dutch international Teun Koopmeiners being sidelined. Michele De Gregorio is also suspended after receiving a red card against RB Leipzig.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Perin; Savona, Kalulu, Gatti, Cambiaso; Fagioli, Douglas Luiz; Conceicao, Locatelli, Yildiz; Vlahovic

UNAVAILABLE: Di Gregorio (Suspended), Bremer (Injured), McKennie (Injured), Koopmeiners (Injured), Gonzalez (Injured), Milik (Injured)

JUVENTUS VS STUTTGART PREDICTION

Juventus, as mentioned, have been more proactive and entertaining to watch so far this season and especially with 11 goals coming in their two matches in the UEFA Champions League. However, Juve have endured three goalless draws in eight Serie A matches to suggest a potential stodginess and lack of precision. Stuttgart were able to blunt Real Madrid quite a bit at the Bernabeu last month so will be confident of doing the same in Turin. As a result, a low-scoring encounter may well be expected.

JUVENTUS VS STUTTGART TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
