THE LOWDOWN
Inter Milan are set to face Benfica in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday at San Siro. Inter Milan currently hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, which puts them in a strong position going into the game. Despite struggling in Serie A, Inter have performed well in knockout competitions this season, and they will also be facing Juventus in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final later this month.
Benfica, on the other hand, suffered a 1-0 defeat to mid-table Chaves in their domestic league over the weekend, which cut their lead at the top of the rankings to just four points. They will be looking to bounce back from that disappointment and overturn the deficit against Inter Milan to progress to the next round of the Champions League.
THE PREDICTION
Benfica were fancied by many to progress from this tie but it now looks like an uphill battle for them as they travel to the San Siro needing to overturn a two-goal deficit. Needing to go on the offensive, they certainly possess the talent to find the net here, but Inter could well expose them on the counter-attack, leading to a game featuring goals at both ends.
