THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

Mikel Arteta will have seen Sevilla as Arsenal's main rival in Group B and they claimed a vital victory over the Spanish side in the reverse fixture two weeks ago.

The Gunners have experienced a disappointing week having been dumped out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham before seeing their unbeaten Premier League start come to an end with a somewhat controversial VAR-related defeat to Newcastle.

SEVILLA

Sevilla are still searching for their first Champions League win this season and they will be up against it in terms of qualification if they fail to get a result here.

There hasn't been much improvement since Diego Alonso took the managerial reigns last month, with their only win in the five games since his appointment being the Copa del Rey victory over sixth tier side Quintanar last week.

THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL

Club captain Martin Odegaard faces a race against time to be fit for this fixture with the Norwegian sitting out the Newcastle defeat with a thigh injury, while Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Jesus will definitely miss out.

Eddie Nketiah was expected to lead the line again but he was not seen in training, so Arteta may field Gabriel Martinelli in the central forward position, with Leandro Trossard on the left.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Vieira, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Martinelli, Trossard

UNAVAILABLE: Partey (Injured), Smith Rowe (Injured), Jesus (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Ødegaard (Injured)

SEVILLA

Goalkeeper Orjan Nyland has been ruled out if this one, which should see Marko Dmitrovic return between the sticks for the first time since the Matchday 1 draw with Lens.

Marcos Acuna and Sergio Ramos will definitely miss the trip to London, while Fernando is considered a doubt.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Dmitrović; Jesús Navas, Badé, Gudelj, Pedrosa; Soumaré, Sow, Rakitić; Lukebakio, En-Nesyri, Ocampos

UNAVAILABLE: Acuña (Injured), Nyland (Injured), Ramos (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Fernando (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

After what has been a frustrating week for Arsenal for a number of reasons, Mikel Arteta will be urging his side take out their frustrations on Sevilla and take a giant step towards qualification for the round of 16. Sevilla have been well below par this season, both domestically and in Europe, and they are clearly still getting used to the methods of new manager Diego Costa. Arsenal edged a tight game in Spain two weeks ago, but this could be a more comfortable victory for the Premier League side with a win to nil predicted.

TIP: ARSENAL TO WIN TO NIL
