LAZIO VS BAYERN MUNICH PREDICTION

Defending champions Bayern Munich travel to Italy for this Champions League round of 16 first leg, with Lazio the hosts at the Stadio Olimpico. Hansi Flick’s side unsurprisingly topped Group A with ease, accruing 16 points from a possible 18 and scoring 18 goals, whilst Lazio scraped through as runners up of a group topped by Bayern’s German rivals Borussia Dortmund. Whilst the Italians are a strong side, especially at home where they have won their last seven matches in all competitions, Bayern provide a different level of opposition and boast a frontline that includes star striker Robert Lewandowski alongside winger Kingsley Coman, not to mention the return to Champions League action of Joshua Kimmich after the midfielder missed their last three group games through injury. Such potent weapons going forward should ultimately overwhelm the hosts and lead the Bundesliga side to a first leg victory.
