THE LOWDOWN
VILLARREAL
Villarreal moved onto their third permanent manager of the season over the November international break with the appointment of former Olympique de Marseille boss, Marcelino. Marcelino provided an initial spark but the Yellow Submarine are leaking goals at the moment and look like they may be involved in a Liga relegation battle.
The home team were thrashed by four goals to one at the Bernabeu at the weekend, which followed a 3-0 defeat at home to Real Sociedad about ten days or so ago. They have managed just one league win under Marcelino but did manage victories over Maccabi Haifa, Panathinaikos and Stade Rennais to win their UEFA Europa League group.
CELTAVIGO
Rafa Benitez may well have been on his way at Balaidos if the weekend’s result had gone against him and his Galicians but the former Liverpool and Real Madrid boss was instead saved, at least for now. Celta edged past fellow strugglers Granada by a goal to nil to show that they are giving some fight down at the bottom end of the table.
Performances have been better than the results would have suggested for Celta so far this season and that is why there has been a bit of loyalty shown to Rafa Benitez as he attempts to drag them out of the mire. Benitez is a pragmatist and he will be aware there is a chance to cause an upset at El Madrigal.

THE PREDICTION
A few weeks ago, as Villarreal began to show immediate signs of improvement under Marcelino, this one would have appeared a bit of a foregone conclusion with the hosts set to sweep aside a lowly Celta side. However, there leaky defence means that as long as an opposition team is capable of controlling Villarreal’s attack, they are likely to be well within the game. As a result, a double chance bet in favour of the away team would appear good value for this one.
TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – CELTA TO WIN OR DRAW
