VALENCIA PREVIEW: INDIFFERENT VALENCIANS

With off-field issues still rife in Valencia due to the ownership of the club by Peter Lim, the Valencians have endured another difficult summer transfer window which means they now head into a season in which they have always been expected to struggle and they are very much struggling.

Los Che have started the 2024/25 season with just one win in their opening nine matches as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom three and the relegation zone. The home team come into this one on the back of a goalless draw against Leganes a couple of weeks ago.

LAS PALMAS PREVIEW: UNLUCKY LAS PALMAS

Prior to the October international break a couple of weeks ago, the pressure was building on Luis Carrion, who replaced now Sevilla boss Garcia Pimienta over the summer. He began to chop and change quite a lot but performances got worse if anything and results still haven’t arrived.

The Canary Islanders begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting rock-bottom in La Liga as the only winless team in La Liga. In their most recent outing they hosted Celta Vigo a fortnight ago and they suffered a 1-0 defeat to a Celta side that were down to nine men for over half an hour due to red cards for Ilaix Moriba and Iago Aspas.

VALENCIA TEAM NEWS: INJURY ISSUES

Jose Luis Gaya has returned from injury but Jesus Vazquez is now unavailable. Mouctar Diakhaby also remains sidelined after his serious knee injury suffered against Real Madrid.

Rafa Mir is now out injured with a thigh issue but the former Sevilla striker is also still suspended by the club with allegations of rape made against the forward.

PREDICTED XI (5-4-1): Mamardashvili; Foulquier, Carlos Tarrega, Cristhian Mosquera, Gasiorowski, Correia; Sergi Canos, Pepelu, Almeida, Luis Rioja; Hugo Duro

UNAVAILABLE: Jaume Domenech (Injured), Diakhaby (Injured), Jesus Vazquez (Injured), Rafa Mir (Disciplinary)

LAS PALMAS TEAM NEWS: KEY MEN ARE DOUBTS

Las Palmas have been reliant on both Alberto Moleiro and Sandro Ramirez for attacking efficiency this season but both are major injury doubts for this weekend.

Netherlands international goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen is among those definitely sidelined alongside key defensive duo Mika Marmol and Marvin Park.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Horkas; Viti, Alex Suarez, Herzog, Alex Munoz; Javier Munoz, Dario Essugo; Januzaj, Silva, Alberto Moleiro; McBurnie

UNAVAILABLE: Cillessen (Injured), Mika Marmol (Injured), Park (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Alberto Moleiro (Injured), Sandro Ramirez (Injured)

VALENCIA VS LAS PALMAS PREDICTION

Ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, these two sides sit in the bottom three and the relegation places. Valencia are expected to fight against the drop throughout the campaign and they have had to switch to an even more reactive style of football. Las Palmas go to Mestalla looking to find some fluency and cohesion but they appear nullified with the ineffectiveness of Fabio Silva and Oli McBurnie in attack. A low-scoring, low-quality affair seems quite likely for this one.

VALENCIA VS LAS PALMAS TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
