SEVILLA PREVIEW: A MESS IN ANDALUSIA
Sevilla have been a bit of a mess off the pitch for quite some time now, requiring three different permanent managers in each of the last two seasons to eventually push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places. It looks as though it could now be another season of struggle for one of Spain’s biggest clubs.
Following the appointment of impressive young coach Garcia Pimienta, Sevilla have started the campaign with just one victory in their opening six matches as they languish in the bottom-half of the table. Their most recent outing saw them lose up in the Basque Country by two goals to one against Deportivo Alaves at the weekend.
REAL VALLADOLID PREVIEW: WINLESS IN FIVE
Following promotion last season, Real Valladolid’s president and chairman, Ronaldo, managed to retain the services of Uruguayan coach Paolo Pezzolano and that did seem, and probably still is, the best piece of business they could have done all summer. That was then followed by a victory on the opening day of the season with everything looking up.
However, since that opening day victory, Valladolid are now enduring a five-match winless streak as they come into this one on the back of a fairly tedious encounter against an out of form and underperforming Real Sociedad side at the weekend at Jose Zorrilla to mean they have five points from six matches.
SEVILLA TEAM NEWS: SEVILLA’S ISSUES
The fact that Marcao captained Sevilla last month having made just 13 Liga appearances for the club since joining in the summer of 2022 shows how much of a state the club is in.
He is once again sidelined through injury for the hosts alongside summer signing Albert Sambi Lokonga as well as Djibril Sow and attacker Isaac Romero.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Nyland; Jose Angel Carmona, Nianzou, Kike Salas, Adria Pedrosa; Sow, Agoume, Saul; Lukebakio, Iheanacho, Peque
UNAVAILABLE: Marcao (Injured), Lokonga (Injured), Sow (Injured), Isaac Romero (Injured)

REAL VALLADOLID TEAM NEWS: NOTHING FRESH
Anuar has been unavailable for Real Valladolid throughout this season due to an operation on a hernia but he is edging closer to a return, albeit this probably still comes too soon.
Valladolid have been underwhelming since the opening day of the season and they are still searching for some sort of formula and fluency to find some form.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Hein; Lucas Perez, Juma Bah, Ozkacar, Rosa; Victor Meseguer, Juric; Darwin Machis, Amallah, Raul Moro; Juanmi Latasa
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Anuar (Injured)
SEVILLA VS REAL VALLADOLID PREDICTION
Both of these sides have managed just one win apiece so far this season and, despite the massive difference in the size and history of the two clubs, it does appear as though they will both be alongside each other at the wrong end of the table for a long time. Performances have been a little better than results have shown for Garcia Pimienta and Sevilla this season so, with their home advantage, should surely be backed to come out on top.
