REAL VALLADOLID PREVIEW: MUCH-NEEDED WIN
President and chairman of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo, managed to keep hold or Uruguayan coach Paulo Pezzolano in the summer of 2024, following their promotion to the top-flight of Spanish football last season. He has come under pressure after a tricky start to the campaign but he remains in charge.
Valladolid edged past Espanyol on the opening weekend of the campaign but then the home team went on an eight-match winless run of form in La Liga. However, that winless streak was ended after the October international break when they defeated Alaves by three goals to two in the Basque Country.
VILLARREAL PREVIEW: THE ENTERTAINING YELLOW SUBMARINE
Former Olympique de Marseille and Valencia boss Marcelino has been in charge of Villarreal for nearly 12 months or so and the Yellow Submarine have been pretty much magnificent and much-improved as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots.
The visitors come into this one on the back of sharing a frustrating 1-1 draw with Getafe in their most recent outing, last weekend, at El Madrigal. Santi Comesana had given Villarreal the lead just before half-time before Mauro Arambarri equalised for Getafe late on with an 87th minute penalty.

VILLARREAL TEAM NEWS: SEVERAL ABSENTEES
Villarreal have a couple of confirmed injury absentees and two of those are defensively with both Logan Costa and Juan Foyth missing for the clash against Valladolid.
As well as those defenders, Villarreal also have some injury doubts that include Willy Kambwala, Alfonso Pedraza, Gerard Moreno and Ayoze Perez.

REAL VALLADOLID VS VILLARREAL PREDICTION
Real Valladolid come into this one on the back of a much-needed victory and Paulo Pezzolano must now do what he hasn’t done and stick with the same eleven so they can find some rhythm and fluency. Villarreal are pretty much always thrilling to watch and their ten matches so far this season have consisted of 36 goals. Valladolid may get on the front foot with the confidence of an entertaining win last weekend as well as home advantage but Villarreal do remain the favourites.
