REAL VALLADOLID PREVIEW: HOME ADVANTAGE TO BE KEY
Under the management of Uruguayan coach Paulo Pezzolano and owned by Ronaldo, who is also their president, Real Valladolid look set to be quite ambitious this season after finishing as runners’ up in the Segunda. They have started with a couple of impressive performances to underline that ambition, too.
In their opening game of the season, they welcomed last season’s Segunda playoff winners Espanyol to the Jose Zorrilla and managed to edge past the Catalans by a goal to nil. Then, with just two minutes of the 90 to go, they were only 1-0 down to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu before late strikes from both Brahim Diaz and Endrick.
LEGANES PREVIEW: THE EXCITING LEGANES
Much like Valladolid, Leganes look set to be ambitious in the Spanish top-flight this season and even try to push towards the middle-of-the-table or, like Alaves following promotion in 2023, squeeze themselves into the top-half of the table. It has been a good start to the season, too, to back that up.
On the opening day of the season, they went to Navarre and to El Sadar to face Osasuna in Pamplona and came away with a 1-1 draw in which they were the better side for most of it. Since then they defeated Las Palmas by two goals to one with Juan Cruz notching his second of the campaign and Enric Franquesa also getting on the scoresheet.
REAL VALLADOLID TEAM NEWS: ANUAR OUT
There is only one injury concern for Real Valladolid this weekend with experienced midfielder Anuar, who has re-established himself as a key first-teamer in recent seasons after loan spells with Panathinaikos and APOEL Nicosia, sidelined for the hosts.
Paulo Pezzolano is expected to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend with Blanquivioletas currently playing an enterprising 4-1-4-1 system at the moment, albeit they did make some changed to the side against Madrid with almost an acceptance of an expected loss.
PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Hein; Luis Perez, Cumart, Boyomo, Rosa; Juric; Amath, Amallah, Victor Meseguer, Darwin Machis; Raul Moro
UNAVAILABLE: Anuar (Injured)

LEGANES TEAM NEWS: UNCHANGED LEGANES
In his first season in charge of Leganes, Borja Jimenez led them to the second division title playing an entertaining 4-1-4-1 system and he has stuck with that at the start of this season.
Miguel de la Fuente, who signed this summer, has led the line well but both Enric Franquesa and Juan Cruz will be expecting or at least hoping their goalscoring exploits can get them starts.
PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Juan Soriano; Rosier, Aritz Arambarri, Sergio, Javi Hernandez; Neyou; Enric Franquesa, Dani Raba, Oscar Rodriguez, Juan Cruz; Miguel de la Fuente

REAL VALLADOLID VS LEGANES PREDICTION
Spanish football has been characterised by quite dull teams and tactical styles in the last few seasons but these two sides have gained automatic promotion perhaps playing more in the national team’s front foot style. Given that, as well as the fact that both teams will be pleased and content with the way in which they have started their returns to the top-flight, both teams scoring may well be a good bet for what could be a fun watch for the neutral.
