REAL SOCIEDAD PREVIEW: RISING LA REAL

Real Sociedad have one of the most intense pressing teams in European football and that has often led to them collapsing in the second-half of the campaign. However, this time around they have started the season slowly with their usual problem of scoring issues taking over again at the start of this season.

Imanol Aguacil’s side have begun to turn things around and they come into this one on the back of a run whereby they have suffered just one defeat in their last seven matches across all competitions. They most recently defeated Maccabi Tel-Aviv by two goals to one in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League in midweek.

OSASUNA PREVIEW: ENTERTAINING OSASUNA

Over the summer, Osasuna lost manager Jago Arrasate to Real Mallorca. In the last couple of seasons he has led them to the final of the Copa del Rey and a seventh placed finish in La Liga with UEFA Europa Conference League qualification but they have since drifted outside of the top seven and the European spots.

The Pamplona-based club come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to Real Betis at El Sadar in Navarre last weekend. They have been punching above their weight throughout this campaign, best characterised by a 4-2 defeat of Barcelona last month. Their ten matches have consisted of 30 goals so far this season.

REAL SOCIEDAD TEAM NEWS: NEW ISSUES

Real Sociedad’s first-choice goalkeeper Alex Remiro has joined La Real’s injury list which had become short in recent weeks. They are also without the likes of Aihen Munoz, Ham Traore and Pablo Marin.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Unai Marrero; Jon Aramburu, Igor Zubeldia, Ageurd, Sergio Gomez; Martin Zubimendi; Mikel Oyarzabal, Sucic, Brais Mendez, Ander Barrenetxea; Oskarsson

OSASUNA TEAM NEWS: UNCHANGED OSASUNA

The visitors are expected to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend’s trip to the Anoeta with no injury concerns or suspension issues as Kike Barja is sidelined through injury, whilst Iker Munoz is also a doubt.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Sergio Herrera; Jesus Areso, Alejandro Catena, Boyomo, Abel Bretones; Pablo Ibanez, Lucas Torro, Aimar Oroz; Ruben Garcia, Budimir, Bryan Zaragoza

UNAVAILABLE: Kike Barja (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Iker Munoz (Injured)

REAL SOCIEDAD VS OSASUNA PREDICTION

Uncertainty in the summer transfer window and a lot of injuries at the start of this season mean that Real Sociedad have started the season slowly but they are trying to push up the table. They now face an Osasuna side that have been very entertaining at the start of this season but they have only ever won at home in the opening couple of months. Real Sociedad are firm favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage.
