Over the summer, Javier Aguirre departed Real Mallorca for the Mexican national team and he was replaced by former Osasuna boss Jago Arrasate with the plan being to evolve their style of football to become more attacking and more proactive.

The Balearic Islanders are challenging for a top seven finish and European qualification this season and they come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Rayo Vallecano last weekend with a winning goal from Kosovo international Vedat Muriqi.

ATHLETIC BILBAO PREVIEW: FUN ATHLETIC

Former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is blessed with a very entertaining and attacking Athletic Club squad and team that can get on the front foot very well with their abundance of options such as Nico Williams, Inaki Williams and Oihan Sancet.

Athletic come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Slavia Prague in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League in midweek with a winning strike from Nico Williams. They have suffered just one defeat in their last nine matches across all competitions.

REAL MALLORCA TEAM NEWS: NO DEFINITE ABSENTEES

Real Mallorca have no definite or confirmed absentees for this weekend’s visit of Athletic to the Balearic Islanders with a couple of injury doubts as both Ivan Cuellar and Japan international Takuma Asano among those.

Real Mallorca have only scored ten goals in their ten games so far this season but, as mentioned, they play an entertaining style of football and with two big men up-front in Vedat Muriqi and Cyle Larin. Athletic Club have so much quality in attack and some genuinely wondrous patterns of play that make them thrilling to watch, too. This should be a really good game for the neutral on Monday.
