Real Betis’ entertaining 3-2 defeat away to Celtic in the UEFA Europa League in midweek was basically meaningless but fun. Manuel Pellegrini’s side sit firmly in the top four and the UEFA Champions League places ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures after an impressive season thus far. Real Sociedad have, for the third season in a row, started the season quickly and towards the top-of-the-table. The Basque side sit outside of the top four now, though, after just one win in their last five matches and they come into this on the back of back-to-back defeats. Betis, especially with home advantage and a rested first eleven, will come into this as favourites against an out-of-form La Real.
