THE LOWDOWN
MALLORCA
Real Mallorca head into the final four matches of the 2023/24 La Liga season as the team closest to the drop zone. The Balearic Islanders have 12 points to play for and sit six ahead of Cadiz in the bottom three and the relegation places after what has been a really disappointing couple of months for Javier Aguirre’s men.
They lost the Copa del Rey final on penalties to Athletic Club at La Cartuja in Seville and their reactive style of football has failed to pick up points in the league. Their 1-0 loss at home to Atletico Madrid last weekend means they have collected just a point from their last four matches and they have won just two games inside 90 minutes in their last 12 across all competitions.
LAS PALMAS
Under the management of Garcia Pimienta, Las Palmas, often dubbed ‘the Brazilians of Spanish football’, have performed well since gaining promotion from the second-tier last season. However, they have really let themselves go since it became clear in around mid-February that they would comfortably survive any relegation battle.
The Canary Islanders come into this one on the back of yet another defeat as they suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Real Sociedad last weekend. That defeat means they have now suffered seven successive losses and they are winless in ten matches since defeating Valencia by two goals to nil on the 10th of February.

THE PREDICTION
Real Mallorca are probably going to survive relegation this season by the skin of their teeth and by dint of the fact that the likes of Cadiz, Granada and Almeria have been just incredibly poor. They welcome a Las Palmas side that have struggled for goals throughout the campaign, even at their best, and the two teams are set to put on something fairly painful for the neutral this weekend with under 2.5 goals seeming almost inevitable for this one.
TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
