LAS PALMAS PREVIEW: CANARIANS LACKING COHESION

Under the management of Luis Carrion, who replaced now Sevilla boss Garcia Pimienta over the summer, Las Palmas have started the season without a victory and just two points collected in their opening six matches as they begin the midweek match day sitting rock-bottom in Spain’s top-flight.

The Canary Islanders come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Osasuna up in Pamplona at El Sadar in their most recent outing at the weekend. Ante Budimir gave Osasuna the lead from the penalty spot after 39 minutes before Alberto Moleiro equalised just a couple of minutes later but Aimar Oroz stole all three points on the hour mark.

REAL BETIS PREVIEW: BETIS BEATEN

In their opening seven matches of this season across all competitions, Real Betis had suffered just one defeat and that came against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. They are, as mentioned, a generally impressive side with Manuel Pellegrini at the helm but the Andalusians suffered a surprise defeat at the Benito Villamarin at the weekend.

Hosting Real Mallorca earlier this week, Betis went ahead after seven minutes via former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso before Dani Rodriguez equalised just a minute later. Mallorca did manage to steal all three points late on in second-half stoppage-time, though, via Valery Fernandez.

LAS PALMAS TEAM NEWS: A BAD WEEK

In the last few days, Las Palmas have had to deal with the emergence of several key injury doubts such as Scott McKenna as well as Jose Campana, Jaime Mata and Adnan Januzaj.

The Canary Islanders are also still without defender Alex Suarez as they try and build a team around a strike partnership of Sandro Ramirez and Oli McBurnie.

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Cillessen; Park, Herzog, Mika Marmol, Alex Munoz; Sandro Ramirez, Javier Munoz, Dario Essugo, Kirian Rodriguez, Alberto Moleiro; McBurnie

UNAVAILABLE: Alex Suarez (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: McKenna (Injured), Jose Campana (Injured), Jaime Mata (Injured), Januzaj (Injured)

REAL BETIS TEAM NEWS: FRESH INJURY ISSUE

Real Betis have an experienced squad but do have another injury issue to deal with this midweek as defender Youssouf Sabaly is now unavailable for the visitors.

As well as Sabaly, William Carvalho and Isco remain sidelined with former Barcelona defender Marc Bartra and young midfielder Johnny Cardoso both doubts.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Silva; Hector Bellerin, Diego Llorente, Natan, Rodriguez; Sergio Altimira, Marc Roca; Chimy Avila, Lo Celso, Abde Ez; Vitor Roque

UNAVAILABLE: Sabaly (Injured), Carvalho (Injured), Isco (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Marc Bartra (Injured), Johnny Cardoso (Injured)

LAS PALMAS VS REAL BETIS PREDICTION

Las Palmas have been unfortunate in a few games this season as they try and play quite an attacking style of football. They will believe they should have beaten both Sevilla and Real Madrid given their performance in those games but were eventually held to a draw by both. Real Betis don’t have the biggest squad and the congestion of the fixture list in the first-half of the season may prove difficult to manage. They have plenty of scoring options, though, and both teams scoring does appear a good bet.
