LAS PALMAS PREVIEW: SECOND-HALF COLLAPSE
There are rumours that manager Garcia Pimienta may depart Las Palmas for fallen giants Sevilla but the Canary Islanders will be confident of tempting the former Barcelona youth coach to stay for at least one more season. After guiding Las Palmas out of the second-tier last season, he has had them in the top-half of the table for much of the campaign playing an easy on the eye style of football.
It is an easy on the eye style that is perhaps not as effective as it could be and they have since quite badly drifted in the final few months down in the bottom-half with a sheer lack of goals. They have had a bit of respite from losing recently with back-to-back draws; firstly against Real Betis and then away to Cadiz to relegate Cadiz last weekend.
ALAVES PREVIEW: AIMING FOR TOP-HALF
Following promotion last season, Deportivo Alaves would have prayed for a season in which they head into the final day of the campaign sitting outside of the bottom three and the relegation places, let alone sitting in the top-half of the table. Even despite rumours of Luis Garcia Plaza being sacked mid-way through the campaign, the Basque side have been very impressive.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a continuation of their good form as they edged by fellow mid-table opponents Getafe at home last weekend with Carlos Vicente scoring the only goal of the game in the 12th minute. That means they have suffered just one defeat in their last six matches.
LAS PALMAS TEAM NEWS: A COUPLE OF DOUBTS
There are no definite absentees through injury or suspension for this weekend’s visit of Deportivo Alaves. Barcelona loanee right-back Julian Araujo will be a major doubt for this one alongside former Ajax midfielder Daley Sinkgraven.
PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Valles; Araujo, Coco, Suarez, Marmol; Park, Munoz, Rodriguez, Loiodice, Ramirez; Kaba
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Araujo (Injured), Sinkgraven (Injured)
ALAVES TEAM NEWS: SUSPENSION ISSUES
There are a few availability concerns for Luis Garcia Plaza to deal with ahead of the final day trip to the Canary Islands. Loanee Antonio Blanco is out suspended alongside both Nahuel Tenaglia and Carlos Benavidez.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Owono; Gorosabel, Abqar, Duarte, Lopez; Guevara, Guridi; Vicente, Hagi, Simeone; Kike
UNAVAILABLE: Blanco (Suspended), Tenaglia (Suspended), Benavidez (Suspended)

LAS PALMAS VS ALAVES PREDICTION
Las Palmas’ easy on the eye but fairly ineffective style of football has been mentioned and that is very much shown in the goals for column. The Canary Islanders have only scored more than Rayo, Mallorca and Cadiz this year and are winless in the league since mid-February. They now face an Alaves side that are finishing the season strongly and will be desperate to have the pride of finishing in the top-half. As a result, a double chance bet in favour of the away team looks the way to go for this one.
