THE LOWDOWN
GRANADA
Following their relegation from the top-flight in 2022, Granada started the 2022/23 campaign slowly and so sacked former Middlesbrough boss, Aitor Karanka. He was replaced by Paco Lopez and the far more proactive and tactically progressive coach led the Andalusians to the second-tier title and an immediate return to La Liga.
They were always expected to struggle this season but it has been an especially slow start to the campaign. The home team come into this on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Osasuna in their most recent outing, last weekend, following on from the October international break. They have managed just one win in their opening ten matches so far this season.
VILLARREAL
Mid-way through last year, Unai Emery suddenly departed Villarreal for Aston Villa. Despite Quique Setien then guiding the Yellow Submarine to fifth place; he was never viewed as the right fit at El Madrigal. The former Betis coach was sacked earlier on this season after a slow start but his replacement, Pacheta, is already also under pressure.
Their 1-1 draw at home to Alaves last weekend means that they are now winless in their last five league matches. They have managed just two wins all season and one of those came at home to rock-bottom Almeria in Pacheta’s first game in mid-September as they languish down towards the bottom three.

QUESTIONABLE:
VILLARREAL
Villarreal have several injury concerns with the likes of Francis Coquelin, Denis Suarez and Yeremy Pino all unavailable, whilst Alfonso Pedraza and Dani Parejo are doubts.
PREDICTED XI (3-1-4-2): Jorgensen; Mandi, Albiol, Cuenca; Parejo; Femenia, Comesana, Capoue, Alfonso; Gerard, Sorloth

THE PREDICTION
These are two of the teams that have started the 2023/24 La Liga season the weakest with both down at less than a point a game. Granada, despite their poor start, have still scored 15 goals so far which only one team outside of the top six has bettered. Villarreal themselves have also averaged more than a goal per game so despite their respective struggles, it could well be an entertaining encounter with both teams scoring seeming quite likely.
BETTING TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
