THE LOWDOWN
GRANADA
Following promotion last season, it has been a miserable campaign for Granada throughout the campaign with the Andalusians set to have their relegation mathematically confirmed in the near future. They begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting 13 points adrift with just 18 points to play for.
Granada have shown a bit of fight in the last couple of weeks, though, as they come into this one on the back of collecting four points from their last two matches. They comfortably defeated Deportivo Alaves by two goals to nil a few weeks ago before then sharing a 1-1 draw with Athletic Club at San Mames last weekend.
OSASUNA
Osasuna finished seventh last season and qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League as well as reaching the final of the Copa del Rey before being edged past by Real Madrid. The Pamplona-based outfit were always set to underwhelm this time around as a result of that significant over achievement last season.
The visitors, though, after a slow start to the season, have settled well and begin the weekend firmly in the middle-of-the-table. However, their 2-1 loss away to Rayo Vallecano in their most recent outing, last weekend, means they have now suffered four defeats in their last five matches with two losses either side of a 3-0 hammering of Almeria.
THE TEAM NEWS
GRANADA
There are three injury concerns for struggling Granada this weekend. The likes of Oscar Melendo, Kamil Jozwiak and Raul Torrente are all major doubts.
PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Batalla; Mendez, Angel, Miquel, Neva; Puertas, Ruiz, Gerard Gumbau, Joziak; Villar, Boye
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Melendo (Injured), Jozwiak (Injured), Torrente (Injured)
OSASUNA
Unai Garcia is a doubt for this weekend, whilst other key men such as David Garcia, Johan Mojica, Aimar Oroz, Kike Barja and Ante Budimir all unavailable.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Herrera; Areso, Catena, Herrando, Cruz; Ibanez, Munoz, Gomez; Ru. Garcia, Ra. Garcia, Pena
UNAVAILABLE: Mojica (Injured), David Garcia (injured), Budimir (Injured), Oroz (Injured), Barja (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: U. Garcia (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
This is not expected to be a thriller for the neutral down in the south of Spain. In 32 matches so far this season, Granada have managed just 33 goals with Osasuna notching on just 37 occasions. Granada are a poor team but do try and at least proactive, whereas Osasuna are a typically modern day Spanish side and they are generally reactive and pragmatic. As a result, under 3.5 goals does appear extremely likely for this one.
TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
