THE LOWDOWN

GETAFE

Jose Bordalas has his Getafe side once again pushing towards the top seven and the European spots as they try and aim another unlikely but historic campaign playing in an aggressive style of football that borders on being fairly described as ‘violent’. They do, though, come into this one on the back of some indifferent form.

The Madrid-based club were hammered by four goals to nil in Catalonia last weekend away to Barcelona with goals scored by Raphinha, Joao Felix, Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez. Getafe have now managed just one win in their last five matches as they slightly drift away from the top seven ahead of this weekend.

LAS PALMAS

Alongside Getafe, Las Palmas are punching above their weight as they aim for a potential top seven finish and return to European football. The Canary Islanders, who only gained promotion to the Spanish top-flight, begin this match day sitting just a place behind Real Sociedad, who are seventh and in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying spots.

Coached by former Barcelona youth coach Garcia Pimienta, Las Palmas come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Osasuna in their most recent outing, last weekend, with Kirian Rodriguez cancelling out Unai Lopez’s opening goal. Las Palmas have managed just one win of their last five matches, too.

THE TEAM NEWS

GETAFE

Getafe have a couple of key defenders out suspended for this weekend as both Djene and Omar Alderete are unavailable with Mauro Arambarri also out injured.

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): David Soria; Iglesias, Alvarez, Duarte, Angileri; Greenwood, Maksimovic, Milla, Moriba, Diego Rico; Mayoral

UNAVAILABLE: Djene (Suspended), Alderete (Suspended), Arambarri (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

LAS PALMAS

Las Palmas are missing a few players for this weekend’s trip to the capital as Alex Suarez is missing through suspension, whilst Eric Curbelo are doubtful with injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Alex Valles; Coco, Marmol, S. Cardona, Sinkgraven; Park, Munoz, Perrone, Rodriguez, Munir; Sandro Ramirez

UNAVAILABLE: Alex Suarez (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Crespo (Injured), Curbelo (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

These are two of the duller teams to watch in La Liga but for different reasons. Getafe, as mentioned, play a physical and aggressive style to stifle the opposition, whereas Las Palmas put all of their focus and attention into playing a lot more proactively with the ball to control the tempo, thus also stifling their opposition. With both teams also in fairly indifferent form, this isn’t really a game that is that tempting for the neutral.
