CELTA VIGO PREVIEW: GETTING BACK TO FORM

Following the sacking of former Real Madrid and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez in March, B team coach Claudio Giraldez took charge of Celta and helped steer the Galicians away from the bottom three and the relegation places with impressive performances and those impressive performances have continued into this season.

In the receipt of praise from senior players at Celta, the new manager has overseen a much more entertaining style of football in which their four matches so far this season have produced a combined total of 19 goals with Celta only scoring fewer than Real Madrid and only conceding fewer than upcoming opponents, Real Valladolid.

REAL VALLADOLID PREVIEW: REASONABLE START

The reason as to why Real Valladolid have indeed conceded ten goals in their opening four matches is as a result of their 7-0 hammering at the hands of an excellent Barcelona side just before the September international break as well as losing 3-0 to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu a fortnight earlier.

Generally, though, Real Valladolid, following promotion last season, have performed quite well at the start of this season with Uruguayan coach Paulo Pezzolano doing a good job. They have four points with a 1-0 win against fellow newly-promoted side Espanyol and a goalless draw against fellow newly-promoted side Leganes.

CELTA VIGO TEAM NEWS: A FEW ISSUES

Celta Vigo are dealing with a few absentees for this weekend as Alfonso Gonzalez is out suspended alongside injured trio Carlos Dominguez, Mihailo Ristic and Williot Swedberg.

The key decision for Claudio Giraldez during this season has been between Swedberg and American international Luca de la Torre so De La Torre is expected to get the nod.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Ivan Villar; Javi Rodriguez, Jailson, Starfelt; Oscar Mingueza, Fran Beltran, Ilaix Moriba, Hugo Alvarez; De La Torre; Iago Aspas, Borja Iglesias

UNAVAILABLE: Alfonso Gonzalez (Suspended), Carlos Dominguez (Injured), Ristic (Injured), Swedberg (Injured)

REAL VALLADOLID TEAM NEWS: BACK TO STRENGTH

Real Valladolid have been dealing with key doubts throughout the season and key forward Marcos Andre remains one alongside former Birmingham City man Ivan Sanchez.

In terms of the starting eleven, Valladolid have rotated against both Madrid and Barcelona but they will return to playing their best available side at Balaidos.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Hein; Lucas Perez, Jorge Sanchez, Cumart, Rosa; Kike Perez, Juric, Amallah; Ndiaye, Sylla, Raul Moro

UNAVAILABLE: Anuar (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Andre Ferreira (Injured), Ivan Sanchez (Injured), Marcos Andre (Injured)

CELTA VIGO VS REAL VALLADOLID PREDICTION

Celta Vigo have been really entertaining to watch and were very unfortunate to lose 3-2 to Osasuna in their final game before the international break. They will seek to get at newly-promoted opposition at home. Real Valladolid haven’t done themselves justice in some games this season but the signs of why Paulo Pezzolano is so highly-rated have been there with both teams scoring seeming like quite a solid bet for this one.
