THE LOWDOWN

ALMERIA

It has been a truly miserable campaign for Almeria as they begin this match day sitting 17 points adrift of safety with 18 points to play for. The Andalusians will be relegated unless they win this game against Getafe. Onto their third manager of the campaign, Almeria have managed just one victory in their 32 matches so far this season.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Villarreal in their most recent outing, last weekend, with Ilias Akhomach opening the scoring in the 25th minute before Anthony Lozano equalised five minutes later. Alexander Sorloth then stole all three points for the Yellow Submarine in second-half stoppage-time.

GETAFE

The second stint in charge of Jose Bordalas as Getafe has once again been relatively effective as the capital city club have spent most of this season pushing towards the top seven and the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying spots. They are now, though, eight points behind those European qualification spots.

They have been a little more entertaining since Jose Bordalas’ reign, though, with their 32 matches in La Liga so far this season consisting of 82 goals. They come into this one on the back of back-to-back draws against Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano as they begin the match day sitting in the top-half of the table.

There are some key injury concerns for this weekend’s trip down south as the likes of Carles Alena and Borja Mayoral are among those unavailable for Getafe.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Soria; Carmona, Djene, Alderete, Rico; Santiago, Milla; Greenwood, Maksimovic, Oscar Rodriguez; Latasa

THE PREDICTION

Even though they have struggled badly throughout the campaign, Almeria’s record is really harsh based on their performances, which have definitely merited more than a solitary victory. There has been a total of 95 goals in their 32 matches. As has been mentioned, Getafe have been much more proactive this season and will be firm favourites as they head down to Andalusia with an away win and both teams scoring seeming a good bet.

TIP: GETAFE TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
