THE LOWDOWN
ALAVES
After gaining promotion to the top-flight last season, Deportivo Alaves have been more than respectable in their results so far as they sit comfortably outside of the bottom three and the relegation places. However, there are rapidly growing rumours that Luis Garcia Plaza’s days in the Mendizorroza dugout are numbered.
The Basque club come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to their regional rivals, Athletic Club, in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey in midweek. However, Alaves did manage to secure a pivotal 3-2 defeat of Sevilla last weekend, which followed on from a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad earlier this year, helping Luis Garcia Plaza stave off the sack for now.
CADIZ
Cadiz are one of the teams that head into any season in the top-flight as one of the major favourites to be relegated and is it becoming quite clear that the Andalusians will need another mini miracle to avoid the drop this season. Their league position and points tally is perhaps not reflective of a desperate situation but it would be fair to say they are flattered by that position.
Flattered by the position, despite beginning this weekend sitting firmly in the bottom three and the relegation places. They won two of their opening four matches of the campaign but are now winless in 16 games since then, sinking into the bottom three and coming into this one on the back of being thrashed 4-1 by Valencia last weekend.

THE PREDICTION
This is a hugely important game down at the bottom end of La Liga with a victory potentially vital for either side as they try and battle against the bottom three. Alaves, especially with their home advantage, are the firm favourites for this one as they try and make it back-to-back La Liga victories after they defeated Sevilla last week. Cadiz have been as bad as winless Almeria for a few months now and Alaves should get a fairly slender victory in this one.
TIP: ALAVES TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
