THE PREDICTION
Huesca were so, so close to their first win of the season last week but fell to a 3-3 draw away at Granada. A 3-1 lead with just two minutes of normal time following Shinji Okazaki’s first goal of the season was thrown away as a tired and lacklustre Granada managed to steal a point. It now means that two thirds of Huesca’s 12 matches have ended in a draw. That is a frankly remarkable statistic which means that nobody has lost more games than them in the bottom half yet they are bottom of the table. Signs of improvement are obvious. Their opponents this weekend are against the ever-improving Alaves. Alaves are now unbeaten in six matches including victories over Real Valladolid and Real Madrid. In that unbeaten run, two games have been 0-0 but they’ve taken the lead in all of the other four games which has led them to a comfortable place in mid-table. They come up against Huesca without the suspended Rodrigo Battaglia which will be a miss for them. A draw, given both sides’ form this season will be a likely outcome.
