A Clasico is always a special occasion, even if it is a Supercopa being played in Saudi Arabia. However, this Super Cup has a level of importance on it. Real Madrid have been stumbling around throughout the campaign and were beaten by Villarreal last weekend, following on from unconvincing performances against Real Valladolid in La Liga and Cacareno in the Copa del Rey. Their arch-rivals, Barcelona, have off-field issues that have been well documented in the last couple of years but the Catalans remain top-of-the-table in Spain but are yet to win a trophy under the management of Xavi. This is a good opportunity for Barca. Both semi-finals went to penalties and another tight game seems likely so a draw seems a good bet between two good but flawed, evenly matched sides.
