It is O Classico. Whenever two of Os Tres Grandes meet then it is a big deal but especially when these two face off, as Portugal’s most successful clubs. Sergio Conceicao’s reigning champions Porto come into this on the back of a 6-0 hammering of Anadia in the third round of the Taca de Portugal in their most recent outing, last weekend. They have now enjoyed five successive victories and four clean sheets across all competitions. They now face an extremely impressive Benfica side. Following the summer appointment of Roger Schmidt, the capital city club have been outstanding so far this season. Their penalty shootout victory in the cup against Caldas last weekend means they have gone unbeaten in their opening 18 matches in all competitions. These are two strong and in-form sides whereby a draw would appear the likeliest outcome. The two teams have strong defences but good attacks so both teams scoring would look good, too.
