THE LOWDOWN
UDINESE
Earlier this week, 2006 Ballon d’Or winner and 2006 FIFA World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro became Udinese’s third manager of the campaign. The former Benevento and China boss has replaced former Crawley Town manager Gabriele Cioffi, who had replaced Andrea Sottil earlier this season.
The Friulians have endured a bizarre campaign as they begin this week sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places on goal difference. Their 32 matches so far this season have consisted of four victories and, remarkably, 16 draws. They come into this one on the back of being edged out by a goal to nil by fellow strugglers Hellas Verona.
ROMA
In mid-January, Roma took the decision to part company with Jose Mourinho and appoint club legend Daniele De Rossi. The Giallorossi have enjoyed a very impressive rise up the table and are in contention for UEFA Champions League qualification and the capital city club have also defeated Feyenoord, Brighton and Serie A rivals AC Milan to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
However, despite their impressive run, they do come into this one on the back of a 3-1 loss to Bologna at the weekend at Stadio Olimpico. Roma went 2-0 down before half-time with goals coming from Oussama El Azzouzi and Joshua Zirkzee. Sardar Azmoun pulled a goal back for Roma before Alexis Saelemaekers sealed all three points for the visitors.

THE PREDICTION
We have two members of the Italy squad that won the 2006 FIFA World Cup meeting up in the north east of Italy this week as Fabio Cannavaro takes charge of his first game against Daniele De Rossi, who was rumoured to be receiving an extension to his contract which ends this summer before Roma suffered a 3-1 loss to Bologna. Udinese have been too defensive throughout the campaign so will seek to set that right and get on the front foot this time around up against a Roman side that have been excellent and attacking throughout De Rossi’s reign so both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one.
TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
