THE LOWDOWN

TORINO

Former Hellas Verona boss Ivan Juric has implemented a relatively impressive, easy on the eye style of football and good results have come from it but their performances have remained really underwhelming. Torino are still in the hunt for a top seven or top eight finish and European qualification.

They come into this one, though, on the back of an unusually resulting game as they suffered a 3-2 loss to Empoli last weekend with Mbaye Niang scoring a 94th minute winning goal in that game. Torino were unbeaten in their previous four matches but have been consistently frustrating to watch with 31 goals scored in 31 games.

JUVENTUS

Under the management of Massimiliano Allegri, who is in his second stint in charge of Juventus but potentially already coming to the end of that stint, the Bianconeri were involved in the title race in January but a defeat to Internazionale in the Derby d’Italia was followed by an outright collapse in Serie A.

The Old Lady went on a run of just one victory in nine matches in the league before recent back-to-back victories. They defeated Lazio by two goals to nil in the first-leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final tie last week before then edging past Fiorentina by a goal to nil with a 21st minute winning goal scored by Federico Gatti.

THE TEAM NEWS

TORINO

Torino have several availability issues for this weekend with Pietro Pellegri among those sidelined. Defender Koffi Djidji is also a doubt for the hosts.

UNAVAILABLE: Pellegri (Injured), Gineitis (Injured), Ilic (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Djidji (Injured), N’Guessan (Injured)

JUVENTUS

Both Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli are unavailable for Juventus for non-footballing suspensions, whilst striker Arkadiusz Milik is missing through injury.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Vlahovic, Chiesa

UNAVAILABLE: Pogba (Suspended), Fagioli (Suspended), Milik (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

It is the Derby della Mole this weekend and it has the potential to be a genuine upset for the first time in a while. Juventus are unbeaten in the last 19 meetings between these two with Torino last winning in April 2015. However, Ivan Juric’s side are still pushing for UEFA Europa Conference League qualification, whilst Juventus have underperformed throughout this calendar year. Under 3.5 goals seems inevitable but backing Torino might be good value, too.

TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – TORINO TO WIN OR DRAW & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
