Filippo Inzaghi replaced Paulo Sousa last month and Salernitana’s performances have improved but the Salerno-based club remain rock-bottom in the Serie A table with just one victory in their 14 matches so far this season. They come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Fiorentina in their most recent outing, last weekend.
Prior to that defeat to I Viola, Salernitana had collected four points from their previous two matches against Lazio and Sassuolo. They have started to put together some genuinely cohesive attacking patterns of play, managing at least two goals in a game on four occasions in their last seven matches across all competitions.
BOLOGNA
Under the management of Thiago Motta, Bologna have been exceptional this season after he was appointed in the early stages of last year. The home team begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just inside the top seven as they try and earn potential UEFA Europa Conference League qualification.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Lecce in their most recent outing, last weekend. That means Bologna have suffered just two defeats all season with one of those losses coming on the opening day of the campaign against AC Milan and then against a strong Fiorentina side a few weeks ago.
