PARMA PREVIEW: BELIEF IN THE PLAN

Following promotion back to the top-flight as Serie B runners’ up behind Como last season, Parma have enjoyed a productive return as they try to get inspired from the success of the 90s. They, coached by the impressive Fabio Pecchia who had offers from higher up the food chain this summer, are doing so with a progressive style of football, too.

The Crusaders began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina in which they were much the better side before then defeating AC Milan by two goals to one. Their 2-1 defeat to Napoli a couple of weeks ago saw their goalkeeper sent off, an outfielder in net and enduring the game being turned on its head in second-half stoppage-time.

UDINESE PREVIEW: THE IMPROVED FRIULIANS

Last season was a really disappointing campaign and Udinese could only escape a bottom three finish and Serie A relegation on the final day of the season. Over the summer, the Pozzo family have turned their attention back to improving the Friulians and they look very well set ahead of the rest of this campaign after a bright start.

Under the management of Kosta Runjaic, who was in charge of Legia Warsaw last season, Udinese began with a 1-1 draw against Bologna away from home on the opening weekend before then earning themselves back-to-back victories ahead of the September international break against Lazio and Como respectively.

PARMA TEAM NEWS: NEW ‘KEEPER NEEDED

As mentioned, summer signing Zion Suzuki was sent off against Napoli a couple of weeks ago so the Japan international will be unavailable for this weekend’s visit of Udinese.

Parma also have a few key injury issues elsewhere in the side with the absences of both Nahuel Estevez and Mateusz Kowalski new players to be sidelined alongside Adrian Benedyczak.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Chichizola; Coulibaly, Balogh, Circati, Yordan Osorio; Adrian Bernabe, Sohm; Man, Almqvist, Mihaila; Bonny

UNAVAILABLE: Suzuki (Suspended), Kowalski (Injured), Nahuel Estevez (Injured), Valeri (Injured), Benedyczak (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Hernani (Injured)

UDINESE TEAM NEWS: STILL NO ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Chile captain Alexis Sanchez missed the September international break and he remains unavailable after rejoining Udinese this summer on a free transfer.

Aside from the Internazionale forward, there are no other injury concerns for this one with his compatriot, Damian Pizarro, among what was an exciting and ambitious summer window.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Okoye; Kabasele, Bijol, Giannetti; Ehizibue, Karlstrom, Lovric, Zemura; Thauvin, Brenner; Lucca

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Sanchez (Injured)

PARMA VS UDINESE PREDICTION

It has been a bright start to the season for Parma. They do have to deal with some key issues but there have been some good signings made to add depth this weekend and Pontus Almqvist is expected to come into the side. Udinese, though, have also been a little more brighter and more front foot so this could be quite a fun clash at the Ennio Tardini on Monday with both teams scoring seeming like a good bet.
