THE LOWDOWN

LECCE

After an impressive first season back in Italy’s top-flight last season, Lecce lost their manager, Marco Baroni, to Hellas Verona and replaced him with former Benevento coach, Roberto D’Aversa. They began the season playing in a typically proactive and front foot manner but have since drifted into the bottom-half of the table.

The visitors come into this one on the back of being edged out by a goal to nil at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio in their most recent outing, last weekend. That means they are now winless in their last four matches as the gap between themselves and the bottom three becomes uncomfortably small and they really do start to look over their shoulder.

JUVENTUS

The second stint in charge of Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus is seeing The Old Lady really live up to their reputation of consistently grinding out victories to keep up the pressure on Internazionale at the top-of-the-table in Serie A. The Bianconeri didn’t grind out a win in midweek, though, as they comfortably defeated Sassuolo by three goals to nil.

Dusan Vlahovic scored a brace in that match and the Serbian international striker is now finding some form in Turin. Juve have now enjoyed six successive victories across all competitions, reaching the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia in that run and they have managed to score 18 goals in that time, too.

THE TEAM NEWS

LECCE

Kastriot Dermaku is out injured for this weekend and Hamza Rafia, Ahmed Touba and Lameck Banda are unavailable as they away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Gendrey, Pongracic, Baschirotto, Gallo; Kaba, Ramadani, Gonzalez; Oudin, Krstovic, Almqvist

UNAVAILABLE: Rafia (International duty), Touba (International duty), Banda (International duty), Dermaku (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

JUVENTUS

Juventus remain without the suspended Nicolo Fagioli and Paul Pogba, whilst Mattia De Sciglio is unavailable due to injury with Moise Kean also a doubt.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Szczesny; Rugani, Bremer, Danilo; Cambiaso, Miretti, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Vlahovic, Yildiz

UNAVAILABLE: Fagioli (Suspended), Pogba (Suspended), De Sciglio (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Kean (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Juventus have managed 15 victories in their 20 Serie A matches so far this season with The Old Lady only edging past their opposition by a solitary goal on ten occasions. They now face a Lecce side that are in really underwhelming form of late, collecting just a point in their last four matches. They have only conceded more than a goal in a game on just one occasion in their last eight Serie A games so a low-scoring Juve victory is to be expected for this one.

TIP: JUVENTUS TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
