JUVENTUS PREVIEW: NEW WAYS FOR OLD LADY

Following the appointment of Thiago Motta, who led Bologna to UEFA Champions League qualification last season, Juventus have embarked upon a project to make themselves more progressive and attacking with a younger and more dynamic squad as well as a more front foot style of football.

The Bianconeri are the only unbeaten team in Serie A so far this season and have won both of their UEFA Champions League matches, too. However, they have drawn four of their last five Serie A games and were most recently held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Cagliari before the October international break.

LAZIO PREVIEW: LAZIO ARE LEARNING

Over the summer, following last season’s underperformance under the tutelage of Maurizio Sarri and then Igor Tudor, Hellas Verona’s miracle worker Marco Baroni was made Lazio boss. They have started the season steadily but went into the international break on the back of looking like they were really beginning to click.

The visitors’ most recent outing saw them defeat an impressive and high flying Empoli side by two goals to one at the Stadio Olimpico. That means they have now enjoyed four successive victories across all competitions, scoring 12 goals in the process, with other wins against Dynamo Kyiv, Torino and Nice.

JUVENTUS TEAM NEWS: SEVERAL ISSUES

Netherlands international midfielder Teun Koopmeiners is out injured and there is also a fresh injury concern with the recent ACL injury picked up by Bremer.

Francisco Conceicao is out suspended after a red card against Cagliari, whilst Paul Pogba attempts to negotiate a mutual termination of his contract due to a doping ban.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Savona, Gatti, Kalulu, Cambiaso; Thuram, Douglas Luiz; Yildiz, Locatelli, Mbangula; Vlahovic

UNAVAILABLE: Bremer (Injured), McKennie (Injured), Fagioli (Injured), Pogba (Disciplinary), Koopmeiners (Injured), Gonzalez (Injured), Conceicao (Suspended), Milik (Injured)

LAZIO TEAM NEWS: COUPLE OF ISSUES

Lazio have a couple of key injury issues for this weekend’s trip to Turin to face the Old Lady with the definite absence of Manuel Lazzari due to a muscle injury.

As well as Lazzari, former Arsenal and Olympique de Marseille midfielder and France international Matteo Guendouzi is a doubt with a finger injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Gigot, Gila, Romagnoli, Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni; Valentin Castellanos

UNAVAILABLE: Lazzari (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Guendouzi (Injured)

JUVENTUS VS LAZIO PREDICTION

Juventus will intend to get on the front foot once again and dominate possession, requiring space for them to play into and exploit. Lazio, though, have a pragmatic coach in Marco Baroni who will be aware of that and will seek to deny them space. Juventus look strong but are lacking precision in attack and are now dealing with a plethora of absentees in the final third so another low-scoring encounter seems quite likely for this one.

JUVENTUS VS LAZIO TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
