THE LOWDOWN
INTER MILAN
It has been an exceptional 2023/24 campaign for Internazionale so far, in both Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri look intent on reclaiming the Scudetto after last winning the title in 2021. They begin this match day sitting at the top-of-the-table as they try to strengthen their grip before the winter break.
The home team come into this one on the back of an impressive 3-0 annihilation of defending champions Napoli in Naples in their most recent outing, last week. They have 11 victories and two draws in their 14 Serie A matches so far this season with 33 goals scored and just seven conceded to complete an excellent record.
UDINESE
Andrea Sottil was finally relieved of his duties last month after a terrible 12 months in charge of Udinese and, after a bright start in charge of the Friulians, Gabriele Cioffi is beginning to move them away from the bottom three and the relegation places. They were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by fellow strugglers, Hellas Verona, last weekend.
Udinese have now managed just one victory in 14 matches in the 2023/24 Serie A season with a remarkable number of nine draws in those games as they sit just outside of the bottom three. That 3-3 draw saw Udinese’s goal scoring exploits increase by 25% with only two teams, Empoli and Salernitana, having found the net less often.

THE PREDICTION
If it wasn’t for the grinding out of results of Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus then Inter would have already entered into the category of ‘champions-elect’ in Italy’s top-flight. The Old Lady have been exceptional throughout the season and they now face an Udinese side that showed signs of improvement after Sottil’s departure, including a win at San Siro against AC Milan, but this trip to the Giuseppe Meazza is unlikely to have the same outcome with Inter expected to win quite comfortably.
BETTING TIP: INTER TO WIN TO NIL
