THE LOWDOWN
HELLAS VERONA
Hellas Verona only just survived last season in the end of season playoff after finishing level on points with Spezia. Verona then managed to appoint Lecce boss Marco Baroni over the summer. They won their first two games of this season and the only other time they have ever done that they won Serie A.
Since then, though, they have managed just two wins in their subsequent 24 matches. They come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara with the goals scored by Giovanni Fabbian and Remo Freuler. The hosts are now winless in their last six matches in the league.
SASSUOLO
It has been an extremely underwhelming season for Sassuolo as they battle against relegation so before last weekend it was announced that Alessio Dionisi had finally been sacked and he was replaced by Davide Ballardini. They begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom three and the relegation places.
Sassuolo come into this one on the back of being thrashed by six goals to one by Napoli at Stadio Citta del Tricolore after taking a 1-0 lead. Amir Rrahmani then scored for Napoli before a hat-trick from Victor Osimhen and a brace for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia completed the victory for the Neapolitans.
THE TEAM NEWS
HELLAS VERONA
Hellas Verona have no definite absentees for this weekend with no injuries or suspensions ruling players out but Juan Manuel Cruz is a doubt for this one.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Montipo; Tchatchoua, Magnani, Dawidowicz, Cabal; Duda, Silva; Suslov, Folorunsho, Lazovic; Noslin
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Cruz (Injured)
SASSUOLO
Sassuolo could name an unchanged side for this weekend with no definite absentee but they will be without Mattia Viti, who is a doubt for this one.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Consigli; Pedersen, Tressoldi, Ferrari, Doig; Henrique, Racic, Thorstvedt; Bajrami, Pinamonti, Lauriente
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Viti (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
This one is actually quite unpredictable between two teams that are really struggling and have been struggling for some time. Hellas Verona have scored just 23 goals so far this season with only Salernitana and Empoli managing fewer. Sassuolo have remained on the front foot but will likely put a lot of focus and emphasis on shutting up shop after conceding six the other day. As a result, a low-scoring encounter is to be expected for this one.
TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
