THE LOWDOWN
GENOA
Following promotion back to the top-flight last season, Genoa have enjoyed a relatively impressive campaign as they sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table, under the management of Italian 2006 FIFA World Cup winner, Alberto Gilardino. They come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with defending champions Napoli, last weekend.
In that game against the Neapolitans, Genoa took the lead in the 47th minute of the match through Morten Frendrup. However, Napoli equalised late on in the 90th minute via new signing Cyril Ngonge. Genoa have suffered just one defeat in their last ten matches in Serie A as they attempt to push into the top-half of the table.
UDINESE
Udinese have had an unusual campaign with far too many draws halting any real progress and they are in fact involved in the scrap against relegation. The Friulians replaced Andrea Sottil with former Crawley Town manager Gabriele Cioffi and they begin this match day sitting a few points and places above the bottom three.
Two of their three victories so far this season have come away against Juventus and AC Milan. Udinese have, remarkably, drawn 14 matches this year, meaning they have lost fewer games than the likes of Fiorentina and Lazio. They come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari, last weekend.
THE TEAM NEWS
GENOA
There is only one injury concern for Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa side this weekend as Alan Matturro remains unavailable for this one.
PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Martinez; De Winter, Bani, Vasquez; Sabelli, Messias, Badelj, Frendrup, Caricol; Retegui, Gudmundsson

UDINESE
Gerard Deulofeu said this week he may never play football again. The former Watford and Everton winger is sidelined through injury alongside the likes of Hassane Kamara and Roberto Pereyra.
PREDICTED XI (3-5-1-1): Okoye; Perez, Giannetti, Kristensen; Ehizibue, Lovric, Walace, Samardzic, Zemura; Thauvin; Lucca
UNAVAILABLE: Bijol (Injured), Ebosse (Injured), Vivaldo (Injured), Kamara (Injured), Pereyra (Injured), Deulofeu (Injured)

THE PREDICTION
Despite it being a relatively impressive campaign for Genoa thus far, it has been built upon a more reactive style of football than perhaps the ownership group of 777 Partners had intended when they embarked upon a fairly heavy summer of spending last year. They now face an Udinese side that are the epitome of a defence-first team and, as a result, this one is expected to be a low-scoring encounter with under 2.5 goals at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this weekend.
TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
