THE LOWDOWN
FIORENTINA
After reaching the finals of the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, it would have taken a special season to improve for Fiorentina this time around but improve they have as they begin the second-half of the campaign sitting tucked inside the top four and the UEFA Champions League qualifying spots.
I Viola come into this one on the back of a penalty shootout victory over Bologna in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia in their most recent outing in midweek. The Florence-based club were edged past by a goal to nil by Sassuolo last weekend but they have suffered just one defeat in their last ten matches across all competitions.
UDINESE
It has been a very bizarre season so far for Udinese with the Friulians onto their second manager of the campaign and being consistently difficult to beat throughout the season but lacking any real potency to get wins on the board – but that has changed in recent weeks as they attempt to move away from the bottom three and the relegation places.
In their 19 matches in Serie A so far this season, Udinese, under Andrea Sottil and now former Crawley Town boss Gabriele Cioffi, have managed a remarkable two victories with 11 draws and just six defeats. They have scored 19 goals as they come into this on the back of a frustrating 2-1 defeat at home to Lazio last weekend.
THE TEAM NEWS

QUESTIONABLE:
UDINESE
Keinan Davis has joined a relatively long Udinese injury list with the likes of Enzo Ebosse, Brenner and Gerard Deulofeu all unavailable, too.
PREDICTED XI (3-5-1-1): Okoye; Ferreira, Perez, Kristensen; Ebosele, Lovric, Walace, Payero, Masina; Pereyra; Lucca
UNAVAILABLE: Davis (Injured), Ebosse (Injured), Brenner (Injured), Deulofeu (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Vivaldo (Injured), Bijol (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
A couple of weeks ago, Udinese stunned Fiorentina’s top four rivals Bologna by three goals to nil as they try and push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places. They will head to the Artemio Franchi intent on frustrating their opposition but, unlike Bologna, Fiorentina have a fair few more goal scoring options and they will be firm favourites for this one, especially in Florence.
TIP: FIORENTINA TO WIN
