ATALANTA PREVIEW: ANOTHER EVOLUTION AT ATALANTA
It has been yet another busy summer with Atalanta and Gian Piero Gasperini has once again had to reinvest his Bergamasci for what seems like the third or fourth time since he arrived in Bergamo back in 2016. The 2023/24 UEFA Europa League winners have endured a tricky start to the 2024/25 campaign, though.
They began with a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw but then managed an impressive 4-0 hammering of Lecce on the opening weekend of the campaign. Since that impressive victory, though, Atalanta were then beaten by Torino before being hammered by defending champions Inter at San Siro.
FIORENTINA PREVIEW: DIFFICULT FOR FIORENTINA
In each of the last two seasons, Fiorentina have reached the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League but I Viola lost both and then manager Vincenzo Italiano departed for Bologna this summer so it is a rebuilding job for Raffaele Palladino, who has moved to Florence after a strong stint in charge of Monza.
They have struggled at the start of this season in both Serie A and the UEFA Europa Conference League, requiring penalties to beat Puskas Akademia of Hungary in the playoff round of that competition. In the league, they have begun with three successive draws with three goals scored and, of course, three conceded.
ATALANTA TEAM NEWS: CONCENTRATION
Teun Koopmeiners has finally departed the club but Gian Piero Gasperini still has to deal with uncertainty and plenty of injuries for this weekend and injuries to key men, too.
Key players on the run to winning the UEFA Europa League, Giorgio Scalvini and Gianluca Scamacca, remain sidelined – both with ACL injuries sustained in the summer.
PREDICTED XI (X-X-X-X): Carnesecchi; Godfrey, Hien, De Roon; Zappacosta, Pasalic, Ederson; Ruggeri; De Ketelaere, Lookman; Retegui
UNAVAILABLE: Djimsiti (Injured), Scalvini (Injured), Bakker (Injured), Sulemana (Injured), Zanioli (Injured), Scamacca (Injured)

FIORENTINA TEAM NEWS: FINDING FLUENCY
Fiorentina played with a back four under Italiano but Palladino often went with a three for Monza so there will be intrigue as to any tweaks made during the international break.
Fiorentina are dealing with the loss of a couple of first-team players late in the summer transfer window such as Nicolo Gonzalez and Sofyan Amrabat to Juventus and Fenerbahce respectively.
PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Terracciano; Comuzzo, Ranieri, Biraghi; Dodo, Mandragora, Cataldi, Gosens; Colpani, Beltran; Kean

ATALANTA VS FIORENTINA PREDICTION
The two sides are expected to be matched up in terms of their respective formations but they are both at different stages. Atalanta have played this way for years whilst Fiorentina are getting used to it but the addition of Robin Gosens at left wing-back will surely help them in that endeavour. On paper, there is a feeling that this will be quite an entertaining encounter so backing a both teams to score bet would seem sensible.
