THE LOWDOWN
ATALANTA
Under the management of Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta embarked upon what was supposed to be a transitional campaign but the Bergamasci have been extremely impressive in the last couple of months, propelling themselves to firmly in the race for a top four finish and, as a result, UEFA Champions League qualification.
They do, though, come into this one on the back of being hammered by four goals to nil by champions-elect Internazionale in their most recent outing, during the week. Prior to that loss to Inter, Gasperini’s Atalanta had suffered just one defeat in their previous 14 matches across all competitions.
BOLOGNA
That one defeat in that run came against their upcoming opponents in Bergamo this weekend, Bologna. Bologna were also the major beneficiaries of Atalanta’s defeat to Inter the other day as it means Bologna will begin this match day as the team sitting fourth in the table, targeting a first ever UEFA Champions League qualification.
Coached by the impressive and progressive former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Thiago Motta, Bologna have come through a mid-season blip to come into his one on the back of some good form. The visitors come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Hellas Verona last week, making it five successive Serie A victories.

THE PREDICTION
Not many would have predicted these two sides to be the teams in fourth and fifth competing for UEFA Champions League qualification this deep into the season. Atalanta play a front foot and attacking, aggressive style of football and they welcome a Bologna side that do the same, albeit perhaps with a little more control. An easy on the eye clash is to be expected on Sunday with both teams scoring looking a good bet.
TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
