AC MILAN PREVIEW: RESURGENT ROSSONERI
Paulo Fonseca’s AC Milan started this season with no win in their opening three matches in Serie A as well as a defeat to Liverpool in their opening game of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign last week. The Rossoneri have, though, managed to enjoy back-to-back Serie A victories since the September international break.
Milan hammered Venezia by four goals to nil with all four goals coming inside the opening 29 minutes before they then faced Internazionale in the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro last weekend with Milan managing to surprisingly steal all three points late on with a Matteo Gabbia winner.
LECCE PREVIEW: LUCA’S LECCE
Last season, Luca Gotti replaced Roberto D’Aversa during the March international break and he managed to guide the Apulia-based club away from the bottom three and the relegation places. The visitors did so with quite a defensive and reactive style of football.
Lecce began this season with back-to-back defeats against tough opposition in Atalanta and Internazionale, conceding six goals without scoring in their opening couple of matches. The visitors have since improved, though, with five points collected in their last three games but they do come into this on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Sassuolo in the second round of the Coppa Italia.
AC MILAN TEAM NEWS: CALABRIA OUT
AC Milan are now missing experienced defender Davide Calabria after the Italy international suffered a muscle injury last weekend so he will be unavailable.
Malick Thiaw has returned to the Milan side but experienced players such as Marco Sportiello and Alessandro Florenzi remain sidelined alongside Ismael Bennacer.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Tomori, Hernandez; Reijnders, Fofana; Pulisic, Alvaro Morata, Leao; Abraham
UNAVAILABLE: Sportiello (Injured), Calabria (Injured), Florenzi (Injured), Bennacer (Injured)

LECCE TEAM NEWS: GUILBERT SUSPENSION
Summer signing and former Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert is out suspended for this weekend as they travel to San Siro so there will have to be an adjustment in defence.
As well as the former Strasbourg man, Lecce remain without Mohamed Kaba due to an ACL injury that he suffered towards the end of last season.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Pelmard, Gaspar, Baschirotto, Gallo; Ramadani, Coulibaly; Dorgu, Rebic, Tete Morente; Krstovic
UNAVAILABLE: Guilbert (Suspended), Kaba (Injured)

AC MILAN VS LECCE PREDICTION
AC Milan still have question marks and things to deal with, especially after the apparent fall out between the manager and key men Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao last month, but things have been smoother with some big wins of late. They face a Lecce side that have made a mark on Serie A by being stubborn and difficult to beat so that is expected to once again be the case. However, Milan will be firm favourites to still win, albeit it may be low-scoring.
