Granted, it’s never a good time to play Spain when taking into account their incredible strength-in-depth. However, it’s hard to ignore the sheer number of key starting players missing for La Roja and the effect that could have on them against a fearless, battle-hardened Serbia, who held the European Champions to a 0-0 draw in Belgrade last month.
It would be no surprise if this contest turns out to be just as low-scoring, although Spain are rightly classed as favourites. Expect the visitors to enjoy plenty of possession, but for Serbia to dig and make things difficult again for Luis de la Fuente’s side. With that in mind, consider backing under 2.5 goals to be scored for the second consecutive fixture between these two nations.
