THE PREDICTION

Russia returned to action in September with back-to-back victories against Serbia and Hungary in the UEFA Nations League and they go into this match with an impressive record of ten wins from their last 11 games. Their upcoming double-header against Turkey and Hungary will obviously be the main focus, but their coach Stanislav Cherchesov still won’t want to suffer a defeat ahead of those games. Sweden lost both of their fixtures in September, it has to be noted however, that they were playing a higher-standard of opposition and defeats against France and Portugal are not a cause for panic. In total the visitors have only lost three times in 15 matches, and aside from the two aforementioned nations, Spain the only other team to inflict a defeat on the Swedish national team during that sequence. When this pair of nations met in the UEFA Nations League a couple of years ago, Sweden drew away and won at home, they look capable of holding the hosts to a draw on this occasion too.
