THE PREDICTION
A match between England and Wales would normally whet the appetite a lot more, but this is a low-key encounter as both managers are looking ahead to their Nations League games on 11 and 14 October, with England hosting Belgium and Denmark, while Wales face the Republic of Ireland in Dublin and then travel to play against Bulgaria. It’s true that neither Gareth Southgate nor Ryan Giggs will want to head into those games on the back of a defeat, but this match is certainly not a priority and many first-choice players will not be involved - Wales are already weakened due to the absence of both Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. England have more depth in terms of quality within their squad and they are tipped to claim a narrow victory. The hosts will have fringe players keen to impress, and in particular, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be looking to carry his club form across to the international stage - a bet on the Everton striker to score during the contest is recommended.
