THE PREDICTION
The start to Stephen Kenny’s reign as Republic of Ireland manager was not a very good one as the former Dundalk manager tried to implement a more progressive style of play. They have improved a lot since the summer of 2021, though, and they come into this on the back of a 2-2 draw with Belgium the other day. They now come up against a Lithuania side that suffered the relative ignominy of conceding to San Marino. Ireland, especially in Dublin, will be expected to win this one quite comfortably.
