Nepal face India in the first of two friendly matches hoping to improve on their most recent performances, which have seen them lose three of their last four games. Most worrying for Nepal has been their defensive struggles, having conceded 12 goals across those four fixtures. Whilst India, like Nepal have won just one of their most recent four matches, they impressed in their last three World Cup qualification games, narrowly losing 0-1 to Qatar before beating Bangladesh 0-2 and most recently drawing 1-1 with Afghanistan. India appears to be a far stronger team from a defensive perspective and providing their backline can maintain that stability, this may prove decisive when taking into account Nepal’s struggles in contrast.
