Jordan come into this on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Kuwait in their most recent outing in qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup. The Jordanians have now enjoyed three successive victories to nil. Their only defeats in their last 15 matches have come against strong sides in Australia, Egypt, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. They now face a Syria side that edged out Tajikistan by a goal to nil in early-June. That was just their third win in their last 15 matches, though.
