THE PREDICTION
Netherlands face a difficult challenge in their first World Cup European Qualifier as they travel to Turkey in Group G. Frank de Boer’s men are unbeaten in their last four competitive fixtures, but face a tough examination here against a side who have lost just twice in their last 12 matches in all competitions. The absence of Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk due to injury is expected to have a significant impact on the visiting defence and Turkey will be confident of capitalising on this when taking into account that the Netherlands have conceded in each of their last three games. However, de Boer will look to counter this with the attacking strength of their own squad and they’ll be looking to set the tempo of the contest and ultimately overwhelm the hosts with their own offensive quality. Therefore, both teams to score looks very much on the cards.
