THE PREDICTION
Despite Ukraine having competed in just one hybrid friendly match between now and November 2021, their players will no doubt be ready for this European Qualifier as they bid to qualify for the World Cup. Whilst events off the pitch have understandably cast a shadow on Ukrainian football, this is a strong side who have not lost in their last eight fixtures (including friendlies). However, Scotland boast home advantage and have not lost at Hampden Park since EURO 2020. Like Ukraine, Steve Clarke’s side are also unbeaten in their most recent eight matches and this should prove an extremely tight contest when considering that the stakes could not be higher for both nations, with Wales awaiting the winners. The two teams are well matched and it would not be a surprise if extra time, or even penalties are needed to find a winner so consider backing a draw across 90 minutes in this one.
