THE TEAM NEWS
MOLDOVA
- Moldova lost their sixth game in succession in their EURO 2020 qualifying campaign but will be proud of their efforts after giving world champions France a scare in their game at the Stade de France.
- Having taken a shock lead in the opening 10 minutes, Moldova were pegged back in controversial circumstances when France levelled despite goalkeeper Alexei Koselev appearing to be fouled in the build-up before a late penalty edged the French ahead.
- After weathering the storm for large spells, it will be a disappointment for Moldova that they could not hold on for at least a point but they now have one final home game in an attempt to add to their solitary victory so far.
ICELAND
- Iceland will need to quickly pick themselves up from the disappointment of failing to beat Turkey as their hopes of automatically qualifying for EURO 2020 were ended by their goalless draw in Istanbul.
- It is not yet the end of the road for Iceland who currently occupy a place in the play-offs but they will want to end their qualifying campaign on a high as they travel to Moldova on the back of two matches without defeat.
- Iceland look set to be without Alfred Finnbogason after the striker landed awkwardly on his wrist against Turkey which saw him substituted in the 24th minute and with a short turnaround, he has little time to recover.
THE PREDICTION
Moldova put in a valiant display against France but it ultimately turned out to be a fruitless visit as a late penalty saw them fall to a narrow defeat to the world champions. They now host Iceland in their final game of Group H but it is the visitors who will fancy their chances of picking up the win. They look set to feature in the play-offs and will want to take some good form into that with a victory on the cards for them here.
