  • England have won all their previous five matches at U21 EURO 2023 without conceding a goal. No team has won the tournament without conceding a goal since the switch of format to a group stage in 2000.
  • England are unbeaten in the previous four U21 EURO matches between these two nations (W3 D1). They won both legs of their encounter in the 1984 final (1-0 away and 2-0 home) and then claimed a 2-0 victory in the group stage in 2009. The most recent meeting in the 2011 group stage finished as a 1-1 draw.
  • England have won 14 of their last 16 U21 EURO qualifying and final tournament matches (D1 L1).
  • England have won their last six U21 EURO final tournament matches.

THE PREDICTION

These have been the most impressive sides in the tournament and have enjoyed fairly comfortable runs to the final, albeit England have found it a lot more straightforward. The Young Lions, under the management of Lee Carsley, have been exceptional throughout, both in terms of performances and results. They are yet to concede a goal in the tournament and have been keen and committed on playing a fluent, front foot style. Spain, on the other hand, had to adapt after the loss of coach, Luis de la Fuente, to the first team a few months ago. The Spanish have played well, though, despite being held to a group stage draw by Ukraine and then requiring extra time against Switzerland in the quarter-finals. They hammered Ukraine by five goals to one, though, in the semi-finals which was a real statement. Despite that, there is a lack of experience and control that England have shown in their tournament and they are favourites to win their first UEFA Under-21 European Championship title of the century.

BETTING TIP: ENGLAND TO WIN
