THE PREDICTION

Republic of Ireland picked up a point in Bulgaria but they will hope to follow that up now with a win at home. They face a Finland side that were beaten at home by Wales so they have to bounce back themselves. The Irish have only lost one of their last 13 games but they are struggling to convert draws into victories. There is a clear shift towards youth under Stephen Kenny and that may see them experience something of a transition phase for some time. This is a winnable game for them but Finland will not be pushovers and there is every chance this could be another stalemate. Either way, expect very few goals in this one.
