THE PREDICTION

Joachim Loew will be without several players following their involvement in the Champions League final at the weekend. Antonio Rudiger, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Ilkay Gundogan all took part in that match which could disrupt the Germans’ participation. They come up against one of, if not the, best side in Europe based on current form. Kasper Hjulmand’s appointment in 2020 has seen Denmark drastically improved as their pool of players has expanded. Their 2021 has seen them score 14 goals without conceding in three matches including an impressive 4-0 win over Austria in March; that followed a Nations League campaign in the Autumn of 2020 which saw them take four points from a possible six and threaten Belgium - they did go down twice in defeat to the Belgians, though. The Germans had some poor pre-2018 results including scraping past Saudi Arabia as well as a loss against Austria. Given their unavailable players, Denmark will probably be confident of victory.
